Violeta Ilik is the dean of Adelphi University Libraries in NY, USA, responsible and accountable for directing all activities of the institution’s libraries. Prior to coming to Adelphi she worked at Columbia University Libraries as the Head of Digital Collections and Preservation Systems. In that role she worked on expanding programs in digital collection building, digital archives, and digital preservation. Before relocating to the NY State she worked at the Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, Galter Health Sciences Libraries and Learning Center where she was the Head of Digital Systems and Collection Services. In that role she took the lead in planning, organizing, and implementing efforts of the institutional repository and other existing and emerging services within and across the various departments in the library as well as within Northwestern University. Her library career began at Texas A&M University Libraries in 2007. One of her roles was Semantic Technologies Librarian during which time she had an opportunity to build partnerships with various university stakeholders to support library initiatives such as researcher profiling systems and researcher unique identifiers, and work on efforts to help with understanding of scholarly communication and publishing, including open access and copyright. She serves on the Board of Directors of FORCE11 and is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of ConnectNY.

Ingram's research involves devising methods for computational analysis and use of the large digital collections held by libraries and archives. He is principal investigator for a National Digital Infrastructures research grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (LG-37-19-0078-19) to study the application of computational methods and resources to large corpora of electronic theses and dissertations. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science at Virginia Tech, under the supervision of Professor Edward A. Fox, with a dissertation focused on ETDs, which uses techniques from natural language processing and machine/deep learning to uncover the knowledge and data buried in this rich corpus of graduate research and to facilitate its discovery, use, and reuse.

His Ph.D. involved the analysis and processing of unstructured news reports text to perform fusion of news reports, summarisation and personalised recommendations. His main research interests include knowledge discovery, data and text mining, information retrieval, and application of AI to environmental and oceanographic data. Joel has substantial experience in the harvesting and processing of open data, including environmental numeric data. Joel has collaborated with a number of other local industries, organisations and departments, especially with the Ocean Malta Research Group with whom he has participated in a number of EU funded projects. Joel is also a member of the University of Malta's University Research Ethics Committee (UREC) where he is responsible for the development and maintenance of the URECA online software platform used across the entire University to handle ethical review for all the research carried out.

Mirjana Brković was born in 1961 in Zrenjanin, Serbia. Graduated on Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad, Serbia. Postgraduate studies finished at the same Faculty of Philosophy in 1994. She defended master thesis and PhD in Serbian literature of XIX century. Mirjana Brković was employed in primary schools in Subotica and Novi Sad. At the Library of Matica srpska in Novi Sad she worked for 14 years as a librarian for old and rare books. Today she is a head of the University of Novi Sad Central Library.
Mirjana Brković is engaged in writing studies in cultural and literature history, as well as librarianship, personal bibliographies, book reviews, etc. Mirjana Brković participated in several international library conferences A 15-18. századi nyomtatványok feltárásának és digitalizálásának kérdései in Budapest, Hungary, Information Literacy and Lifelong Learning and Ethics in Science and Culture, both held in Belgrade, Serbia, and attended the International Scientific Conferences Basic Values of the Contemporary Librarianship and Electronic Library in Belgrade, Serbia, International Conference on Distributed Library Information Systems in Ohrid, Macedonia, presented a paper at IFLA Satellite pre-conference Open Access to Science Information: Trends, Models and Strategies for Libraries in Chania, Crete, Greece, etc. She is a member of the Serbian Library Association, Society for Popularization of Science in Novi Sad, Serbian Society for the 18th Century Literature. For her work she was twice rewarded by Serbian Library Association (1997, 2009).
Mirjana Brković has published numerous journal articles and several books: catalogues – Srpske knjige i periodika 18. veka u Biblioteci Matice sprske (= Serbian Books and Periodicals from 18th Century in the Library of Matica Srpska), Biblioteka Save Tekelije (= Sava Tekelija Library), short stories and poetry – Povratak istom (= Return to the Same), Paštrovski album (= Album from Pastrovici) and Baršunaste pesme (= Velvet poems), study – Sto godina zadrugarstva u Novom Bečeju (= Hundred Years of Agricultural Cooperative in Novi Bečej), master thesis – Fantastika u delu Jovana Grčića Milenka (= Fantasy in Jovan Grčić Milenko’s Work), PhD thesis – Proza Bogoboja Atanackovića (= Bogoboj Atanackovic Prose), etc.

Joachim Schöpfel is an associate professor in Library and Information Sciences at the University of Lille. He is researcher at the GERiiCO laboratory and independent consultant of the Ourouk consulting office at Paris. His main field of research is scientific information and communication. He is member of the euroCRIS board and of the NDLTD board of directors.

Michael Boock has more than 20 years of experience in digital library, scholarly communication, and library technical services operations. Professor Boock formed the Center for Digital Scholarship at Oregon State in 2010 and developed new library services supporting the visibility, publication, management, and preservation of university scholarship. A 2018-2019 U.S. Fulbright Scholar in Bulgaria, Professor Boock received his Masters in Library and Information Science from Kent State University and is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles on digital libraries, digital preservation, and scholarly communications topics.

For a decade, Andrew oversaw the operations of a small natural history museum and aquarium and directed the related research programs and biological collections. During this time, he published research on spider ecology and endangered species conservation. An interest in open science and data management led Andrew to the field of Information Science and he received a Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington in 2020. In his current role at Figshare, Andrew focuses on advancing the practice of open science and looks for ways to help researchers and librarians think through their data curation and repository needs.

Lighton Phiri is a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Library and Information Science at The University of Zambia. He received his PhD in Computer Science in 2018 and a Master of Science in Computer Science in 2013, both from The University of Cape Town. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, from The University of Zambia. Lighton’s research interests are in the fields of Data Mining and Digital Libraries, with a focus on techniques and methods that emphasise the application of effective solutions in resource constrained environments. He also has ongoing research interest in the field of Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) and Technology-Enhanced Learning. His current and ongoing research has focused on devising solutions to make scholarly research output visible online. In addition, he has been working towards building relationships with potential collaborators in the Health and Education sector, in Zambia, in order to explore ways of devising solutions that can potentially result in the effective use of tools and technologies in the sectors. In addition, Lighton currently plays an active role in advancing the fields of Data Science and Machine Learning on the African continent. Lighton was recently appointed a member of the Board of Directors of the Networked Digital Libraries of Theses and Dissertations. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Africa School on Machine Learning for Data Mining and Search, overseen by the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Information Retrieval (SIGIR) and Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (SIGKDD). He is also part of the Programme Advisory Committee for the Master’s in Data Science programme at the Namibia University of Science and Technology.

Lazarus G. Matizirofa is a Deputy Director and head of Scholarly Communications, Digital Systems
and Services at the University of Pretoria Libraries, South Africa. He is responsible for the following
functions of the library’s priority research support; Open scholarship, Digital scholarship, Information
technologies, Research data management, Digitisation and Digital Preservation, Makerspace, Web
management, Libby, the first Robot Librarian in Africa, Special Collections & Digital Humanities,
Research Enablement and Open Science focus areas. His leadership in digital scholarship access
and discovery management is to ensure the robustness, stability and sustainability of the UPSpace
repository (launched in 2010), the UP Data Repository (launched in 2020) and the UP Journals
platform (launched in 2021) and as well as the South African SDG Hub, a national resource hosted by
the Albert Luthuli Leadership Institute at the University of Pretoria. He is has keen interest in

Zimbabwe). He is currently studying for a PhD Information Science at the University of South Africa,
focusing on developing an institutional Open Science Framework for the University of Pretoria.
Lazarus G. Matizirofa is a Deputy Director and head of Scholarly Communications, Digital Systems
and Services at the University of Pretoria Libraries, South Africa. He is responsible for the following
functions of the library’s priority research support; Open scholarship, Digital scholarship, Information
technologies, Research data management, Digitisation and Digital Preservation, Makerspace, Web
management, Libby, the first Robot Librarian in Africa, Special Collections & Digital Humanities,
Research Enablement and Open Science focus areas. His leadership in digital scholarship access
and discovery management is to ensure the robustness, stability and sustainability of the UPSpace
repository (launched in 2010), the UP Data Repository (launched in 2020) and the UP Journals
platform (launched in 2021) and as well as the South African SDG Hub, a national resource hosted by
the Albert Luthuli Leadership Institute at the University of Pretoria. He is has keen interest in
furthering technological innovation of research visibility and the impact of University of Pretoria

Daisy Selematsela (PhD) has been appointed as the University Librarian of Wits University from 1 March
2022. She previously served as the Executive Director Library & Information Services at the University of
South Africa (UNISA) and Acting Vice Principal for Research and Innovation. She also served as Executive
Director Knowledge Management Corporate at the NRF. She is a Professor of Practice of Knowledge
Management of the University of Johannesburg.
Her role in academic citizenship involves serving on international Boards of Directors of COAR
(Confederation of Open Access Repositories), CODATA (Committee on Data of the International Science
Council); Research4Life and ORCID. At national level serves on the Board of Directors of ITOCA
(Information Training and Outreach Centre for Africa), SANLiC (South African National Licensing
Consortium) and serves as Chairperson of both CHELSA (Committee for Higher Education Librarians of
South Africa) the South African National Committee of CODATA through the NRF. She previously served
on the Board of the National Library of South Africa, Council for Library and Information Services (NCLIS)
and Council of the National Archives of South Africa.
She served on the Editorial Board of Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA) Data
Science Journal (DSJ). Currently on the Editorial Board of both Global Change Research Data Publishing
and Repository and Preservation, Digital Technology & Culture (PDT&C) Journal.
Daisy is the recipient of the 2016 and 2019 Knowledge Management Leadership Award by the Global
Knowledge Management Congress & Awards in association with World Education Congress; and the 1st
International Conference on Knowledge and Innovation Management (ICKIM) Babcock University.
